I was restocking my ipod (the shuffle) and I stumbled on an artist I haven’t listened to in a while, Kristy MacColl, I remember listening to ‘Desperate Character’ when I was in high school (on vinyl) - she was always one of my all-time favorites, and I remember being crushed when she died in 2000, and put ‘Desperate Character’ and ‘Tropical Brainstorm’ on permanent rotation here in the studio.
I haven’t heard any of the material that’s been released after her death, I generally don’t do that, regardless of the artist.
This video is Kristy performing ‘in these shoes’ which I suppose is her ‘signature song’, a song opportunistically covered by Bette Middler shortly after Kristy’s untimely death.
Here’s additional Kristy on YOUTUBE

Ever notice that you just don’t hear ENOUGH covers of Britney Spears OR Iggy Pop, I can fix that even if just for today, Covers by Richard Thompson and Joey Ramone respectively.
We miss you Joey!, Britney not so much, because I’m a bastard, you have to listen to the Britney track to get to the Iggy track.
(If you want to avoid the britney track, hit mute for 3:22

If I’m remembering correctly, my sister in-law got me this very cool little gargoyle many many years ago, it’s been a resident of my desktop since then… I’ve only recently started putting the wedding ring on it’s head, it’s just rattling around on my finger as I code anyway.
I like the contrast from the rock to the silver to the wood.

If you listen closely, really closely, you can hear 100’s of MegaBytes of data churning through my studio’s CAT5 - last night I successfully moved everything ‘easily’ moveable into a new hosting situation. After a 6 hour outage with nary a word of explanation from my ‘soon-to-be-former’ web host - I pulled the plug on my two main domains - and moved them elsewhere - always fun. I can hear my mentors words in my ears - “Don’t get attached to things”, “Don’t keep what you can throw out”, “Do or do not… there is no try.”
Needless to say I took it as an opportunity to clean a little house. The added benefit is that now I have more room to work with, you’ll start to see the benefits of that shortly.

I hadn’t read too much about the iPhone camera, which is a shame, because given that it’s UI is just about the slickest thing on the phone, it bares mentioning - and given that the light level isn’t too high or too low, the photo’s aren’t bad, true they are a bit artifacty if you compare them to my DSLR - but again my DSLR also weighs 540g (lensless). It would be nice to set the compression and image-size on my iPhone though.
Oh That’s MAXX above, he’s grown up some since this post.
