5 is NOT the magic number
iTunes is really pissing me off, why? you ask (go ahead..ask) It’s simple, I have 8 assorted computers throughout the studio and the house - and although they all serve different purposes, they all have a one thing in common - they can all access a shared drive full of music legally purchased off itunes - but of course since the freekin Apple DRM is still in place, I can only play music on 5 of my machines GRRRR! - I’d love to know the rationale of that number, did a group of lawyers decide that was the maximum number of computers that the nuclear family might own, I’m so ungodly sick of de-authorizing one machine, so I can authorize another.
Five is the magic number because Apple says so. It’s the number of seats in the “Family Pack” of OS X, as well as the dotMac “Family Pack” too. There’s probably others, but as you can see Steve has added one more to the nuclear family. You, however are a Mega Family :-) Emailing Steve about your support of Apple all these dollars and years later will do nothing.
