Feline Math

Filed under: daily — saul @ 11:40 PM

1 highly athletic kitten + 1 knit cat toy + 2 walls to bounce off = endless entertainment.

Willie Mays NEVER had moves like Maxx, Bicycle kick off the cat tree, sticks the landing every time.

Yet another Reason I’ll never go to India

From the press release:
New Delhi Auto Expo today, boasting a 30-horsepower 624-cc engine; a four-speed manual transmission; a disc/drum brake setup; room for five (based on the above photo); and claimed fuel economy of 54 US miles per gallon. There’s no power steering, and you’ll find more instrumentation on many wristwatches — the Nano has only a fuel gauge, speedometer, and oil light. Suspension? Well, it has one.

Price tag $2500.00., if you’re waiting for some snarky commentary - please refer to the title of the post.

Excellent Band On The Run Cover

Filed under: audio — saul @ 7:08 PM

Thanks Dawn, great find!, IMHO the best the Foo Fighters have ever sounded, think I like this better than the original.

Hello Kitty Assault Weapon

Filed under: daily — saul @ 8:26 PM

I suppose somewhere there’s a female SWAT officer who’s just dying to look pretty I can only image it would be hard to intimidate ‘the bad guy’ holding a pink shiny gun, regardless of how big it is.

Note:

I do not condone the use, sale, or distribution of firearms, pink or otherwise.

A New Workout Playlist

Filed under: daily — saul @ 10:52 AM

Truth be told it’s been hard to go to the gym now that the temperature is down in the 20’s (and below) - I thought a new playlist would at least make me more productive while I’m there. I wanted the perfect mix of aerobic rock, cardio pop and a pinch of cheese, just for fun - I also wanted each track at a different pace (otherwise I get bored) and an overall length of roughly 40 minutes (which is generally how long I have available to go to the gym). It’s very much a work in progress.

I don’t condone such things, but all these tracks would be really easy to get via bitTorrent.

2008 Workout playlist #1

  1. Hanging On The Telephone / 2:33 / Blondie
  2. Face To Face / 4:00 / Daft Punk
  3. You Get Yours / 3:59 / Sophie Ellis-Bextor
  4. Slingshot / 2:54 / On
  5. A Certain Romance / 5:31 / Arctic Monkeys
  6. The Bad Touch / 4:23 / Bloodhound Gang
  7. Le Freak / 3:36 / Chic
  8. Should I Stay Or Should I Go? / 3:10 / The Clash
  9. Psychotic Reaction / 3:55 / The Cramps
  10. Louie Louie / 3:49 / Iggy Pop

Total Time: 38 minutes

Soar

Soar
IMHO Illustration Friday is the perfect way to start 2008, this weeks theme was ‘soar’ - so I put together a moody little image that showed what a little lateral thinking can do for you, even if you’re a bird.

I’m liking the limited palette, I need to do more of that.

2008 Hopefully a better year

Filed under: daily — saul @ 8:52 AM

I didn’t hate 2007, not entirely anyway - in a word it was ‘tumultuous’ - I had a few health issues, some missteps personally and business-wise, and although I realize it’s easy to nitpick looking back, I generally didn’t enjoy the last 365 days - that’s not to say there wasn’t a few high-points, just not enough.

Here’s to 2008, we’ll see where it takes us.

CORRECTION:

It’s been brought to my attention that the overall tone of this post is too negative, I don’t mean to imply that nothing good occurred in 2007, 2007 had plenty of high-points as well, I just hope to have a few more highs, and far less lows in 2008.
