New Word Learned

Filed under: daily — saul @ 7:10 AM

So it may seem odd that it’s taken this long - but I’m learning the word ‘NO’. I may also experiment a bit with ‘MAYBE!’ - remember you heard it here first.

Choose

Filed under: illustration — saul @ 6:53 PM

choose.jpgThis week’s Illustration Friday’s theme is ‘choose’. So I went with the classic ‘coffee OR tea’ scenario - tossed in a robot butler (because I don’t draw ENOUGH robots) and had some fun with a really limited palette, and some low contrast - I think it has an interesting feel.

Rock Violin/Guitar Genius

This track has been hanging out unplayed in iTunes for far too long, the genius of Don Sugarcane Harris IMHO the greatest violinist/guitarist EVER (YO YO Ma is great, but can he rock like this for 9:26 ?)

Eleanor Rigby from Fiddler on the Rock

In Memory of Instant Photography

polaroid.jpgI wasn’t surprised by the announcement that Polaroid was ceasing production of instant film, instant film is just one of latest digital photography victims, don’t get me wrong I love digital photography, but it’s not without it’s downside.

  • The art of making prints is all but lost.
  • Now EVERYONE is a photographer
  • Cell phones cameras are everywhere - privacy is non-existent
  • People learned the word ‘MEGA-PIXELS’

Pictured above are my (left to right); Kodak Kodamatic Champ, Polaroid OneStep CloseUp and my Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera (with sonar) just 3 of the notable 5 instant cameras I have - no doubt film will still be available, just at a premium price.
